Supplier management


The establishment and continuing growth of outsourcing as a key element of strategy in many corporate and public sector organisations has resulted in a skills gap. Managers, who previously lead an in house team are now taking on a supplier management role

Whilst in most organisations the sourcing and procurement process is rigorous, and sufficient resources have been put in place, the re skilling of people who now have to manage the engaged supplier has not had the same attention. This is now changing as outsourcing and offshoring increasingly becomes business as usual. However there is still some way to.

We have been involved with in this exciting area since 2001 when we were engaged by an international bank to design and deliver a pilot course. Over the following year we delivered 18 courses for them. That started our journey into supplier management which since then has been our single largest growth area.

As well as developing our own supplier management business, we now partner with other training consultancies, whereby we license our IP, take a SME role, and work jointly with them on projects for their clients
